How To Schedule An Inspection Using IVR:

Call the inspection request line at 530-749-5640 and follow the automated prompts:

Using your touchtone or cellular phone:
  • Enter the permit number, which can be found on the orange inspection card.  

  • Enter the 3 digit inspection code for the inspection desired. IVR Code List

  • Select the date you would like your inspection scheduled for from the given available date options.

  • After selecting the inspection date, your inspection will be scheduled and you will be given a confirmation number.  Please write down the confirmation number before completing your call.  

 

Services Provided to the Public:


The Building Department implements policy and procedure for the construction process by use of Yuba County Board of Supervisors adopted ordinances, California Code of Regulations Title 24, Local, State, Federal Departments, Districts and Agencies.  In an ongoing effort to provide and maintain the highest level of customer service possible the following are examples outlining some of the many services provided in the achievement of our goal:

 

  • Thorough evaluation of plan submittal documents to assure all necessary information has been included.
  • Rapid plan disbursement to appropriate Departments, Divisions, Districts and Agencies for review.
  • Timely Building Department plan reviews are performed by our International Code Council (ICC) certified plan review staff.
  • Comprehensive field inspections are performed by our International Code Council (ICC) certified inspection staff.
  • Provide general information regarding building codes, construction methods and materials used within the building environment.
  • The Building Department is committed to delivering value-added services and information while also making your interactions with Yuba County more efficient and convenient. Every Wednesday, through our ExpressTrak service, our department will review and issue certain Building Permits over-the-counter. Click the ExpressTrak link to see what projects qualify.

 

On-Line Services:

 

The Online Permit Center allows Licensed Contractors and Home Owners to schedule inspections,  Applicants can follow the status of their permit application and the Public can review permits, projects and property information or look up contractor information.... all online!

 

You may request a fee estimate for a proposed residential or commercial project.  Select the type of Residential or Commercial fee request form, fill in the necessary information and email your request to building@co.yuba.ca.us. Please allow 5 business days to process your request.  Building Staff will contact you when the estimate has been completed.

 

Cascade Fire:

 

Of much importance to all, the Yuba County Board of Supervisors took action to authorize the Director of Community Development and Services Agency to defer, modify and even waive fees associated with rebuilding within the boundaries of the Cascade Fire. The pre-building permit application will assist property owners in pre-planning and making decisions as permit costs associated with rebuilding may have an impact on the overall construction costs. In order for CDSA to determine the cost to rebuild, the pre-building permit application should be submitted either with your plans, or prior to having the plans created. You are welcome to submit multiple times to better weigh your wants versus needs. We will compare your submittal against our records to give you the best information available for you to make the most informed decision. 

One of our duties in the Building Department is to ensure that plans submitted for rebuilding conform to the requirements set forth in the 2016 California Building Codes as well as other regulatory requirements.  Our goal is to assist you through that process as quickly and smoothly as possible.
